Junior Data Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to develop, test, and support software applications and data integrations. The role supports ETL workflows, data pipelines, and timely delivery of data to end users while collaborating with business partners and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Assists in the design and development and testing of software applications

Resolves day-to-day incidents to assure the integrity of the services being provided

Consume, transform and update data between two or more systems using integration software

Consults with business partners to create documentation relating to the program definition, development, business requirements. Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications

Writes, translates, and codes software scripts, programs and applications according to specifications and end user requirements

Designs, runs, and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement. Support in the smooth maintenance of the system 2 and provide data to the end users in a timely manner

Prepares and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of assignments

Trains end users to operate new or modified programs

Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of development efforts

Works with external vendors to assure efficient implementation of software products or systems

Keeps abreast of new and changing technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools, and client/server technology to assure achievement of ETL/Development of reports, so users can make proper decisions

Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake

Previous experience with data science or machine learning projects

Familiarity with ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform

Understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery best practices

Master's degree in a related technical field preferred

Qualifications

2-3 years of experience working in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or a similar technical capacity

Comfortable writing and troubleshooting code in Python and SQL

Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or other cloud-based environments

Familiarity with building and supporting data pipelines and ETL workflows

Interest in data science and machine learning, with a willingness to continue learning in those areas

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across both technical and business teams

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline

Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake

Previous experience with data science or machine learning projects

Familiarity with ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform

Understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery best practices

Master's degree in a related technical field preferred
