Junior Electrical Engineer

LaBella Associates is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join its Building Engineering Division in Albany or Poughkeepsie, New York. The role supports project teams in developing electrical engineering concepts, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for building projects, including lighting, power distribution, telecommunications, security, and systems layouts. Responsibilities also include field investigations, electrical calculations, design documentation, and construction administration support.

Responsibilities

Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports

Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD

Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies

Perform field investigations to document existing conditions

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, staff, project managers, other disciplines, and all other employees

Expected to improve current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthens skills

Preferred

EIT certification is a plus

Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred

Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus

Qualifications

An interest in building systems, and a curiosity to want to learn more

Bachelor's or Associates Degree in electrical engineering or related field required

Strong writing, organizational and communications skills

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously

EIT certification is a plus

Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred

Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus
