The role oversees electrical systems and contractors, coordinates with project partners and vendors, and supports operator training, maintenance handover, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Review, evaluate, and approve electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications for medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, control systems, and grounding
Direct and oversee electrical contractors on-site to ensure installation aligns with engineering designs, quality standards, project schedules, and safety protocols
Ensure full compliance with all local, national, and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC/NFPA 70), building codes, OSHA standards, and plant safety requirements (e.g., NFPA 70E)
Manage electrical scopes using project tools including Procore for submittals, RFIs, design revisions, and field updates
Develop and execute field inspection protocols, testing programs, and commissioning procedures for main electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, VFDs, MCCs, and backup power systems)
Serve as the primary electrical engineering liaison between internal capital project managers, external EPC partners, equipment vendors, and municipal inspectors
Design and layout plant electrical infrastructure, including utility interconnect coordination, medium-voltage substations, power factor correction, harmonic mitigation, grounding grids, and emergency generator/UPS backup systems
