Electrical Engineer Senior II

Ultra Maritime develops naval technologies, including sonar, radar, and undersea systems, for the U.S. Navy and allied forces. The Senior II Electrical Engineer will design, develop, test, and support advanced anti-submarine warfare receiver systems, while providing technical mentorship and contributing to project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

Design and development of digital and analog circuits. This includes supporting component selection, electrical design, schematic capture, and defining design constraints for board layout

Oversight for design deliverables such as design documentation and reviews

Design support activities such as DFMEA creation and reliability estimation

Provide electrical engineering input into project estimation, planning and execution

Creation of technical documentation such as requirements specifications and procedures

Hands on laboratory work will be required for testing and debug, equipment construction, and other activities as required

Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and development

Some travel may be required

Preferred

PCB layout experience with multilayer boards

Proficiency with high speed digital design or RF PCB design and associated toolsets

Familiarity with writing scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) or software (C, C++, Java)

Knowledge of JTAG boundary scan test tools

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

7+ years of experience designing digital and analog circuits

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with peers and senior management

Extensive knowledge of electronic circuit design – analog, digital, power, RF assemblies

Experience with electrical CAD software such as Altium, OrCAD, or Pads, and circuit analysis tools such as LTSpice

Experience analyzing and debugging hardware using test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers or spectrum analyzers

Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens

PCB layout experience with multilayer boards

Proficiency with high speed digital design or RF PCB design and associated toolsets

Familiarity with writing scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) or software (C, C++, Java)

Knowledge of JTAG boundary scan test tools
