Electrical Engineer

AMP Industrial Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support engineering and design, equipment testing, and project work involving industrial power distribution systems. The role also includes field testing, troubleshooting, start-up, and commissioning of switchgear and related electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical engineering and design for industrial power distribution systems and equipment

Support the design, application, testing, and troubleshooting of medium-voltage switchgear and related electrical equipment

Test and work with protective relays and power distribution equipment

Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and equipment documentation

Provide technical support throughout the design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning process

Travel to customer sites to perform or support equipment testing, troubleshooting, start-up, and commissioning

Diagnose electrical and equipment issues and develop practical solutions in the field

Coordinate with customers, technicians, project teams, and other engineers

Prepare technical documentation and communicate findings and recommendations

Support multiple projects while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule expectations

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred

Qualifications

Professional experience with electrical power distribution systems

Hands-on knowledge of switchgear and protective relays

Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, start-up, or commissioning

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, specifications, and technical drawings

Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and equipment

Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a small technical team

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred
