Research Data Associate

NYU Langone Health is hiring a Research Data Associate in the Department of Population Health to support NIH-funded studies on substance use disorders and harm reduction. The role coordinates day-to-day study operations, interacts with participants, supports research data and regulatory processes, and contributes to analysis and dissemination of findings.

Responsibilities

Maintain a thorough knowledge of research studies and procedures

Conduct surveys and qualitative research interviews with study subjects. Assist with their analysis and interpretation, as well as help with the preparation of study findings

Update necessary documents required by the NYU Institutional Review Board (IRB) and appropriate parties in order to obtain approval to the study. Support data registries, including ensuring the quality and completeness of research data. Organize and maintain research records

Conduct recruitment and screening of study populations remotely and in the field

Help organize study meetings, maintain communication with study team members and external partners

Help identify and participate in the resolution of potential and actual problems in study operations and participant activities

Assist with regulatory procedures required by the NYU Institutional Board (IRB) and external IRBs in order to maintain approval to conduct human subjects’ research

Help gather program data for grant reports and presentations

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Make contributions to scientific papers, authorship merit will be determined on the level of contribution. Serve as co-author for reports and presentations

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (e.g., psychology, epidemiology, health science)

Spanish-speaking proficiency

Familiarity with working in health care settings

Experience with Institutional Review Boards (submissions, modifications, regulatory handbook)

Experience with REDCap

Experience with delivering behavioral counseling (in person or telehealth)

Experience with digital health technologies, intervention design, and/or AI-based platforms

Health-related bachelor's degree

Spanish proficiency

Qualifications

Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
