Senior Accountant

SimplePractice is hiring a Senior Accountant to own key accounting areas and processes supporting recognition and reporting of financial results. The role includes close activities, reconciliations, technical accounting research, internal controls, reporting, and cross-functional process improvements.

Responsibilities

Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal management reporting

Research and document technical accounting positions for new accounting pronouncements and business initiatives

Draft and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation

Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide clear variance explanations to key stakeholders

Support the design, implementation, and execution of internal control procedures

Help build scalable accounting processes to support company growth, including identifying opportunities for automation

Partner with Product, Systems, Treasury, Tax, People, and Legal on financial systems and process improvements

Support external audit requests and provide supporting schedules and analysis as needed

Preferred

CPA

Experience in SaaS, healthtech, or a subscription-based business

Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience, with a B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and document complex accounting topics

Experience with internal controls, including design, implementation, and execution

Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders

A track record of delivering on challenging projects independently, with a solution-oriented mindset

CPA

Experience in SaaS, healthtech, or a subscription-based business

Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
