Network Engineer

Responsibilities

Supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, including routing and switching environments

Configuring and managing network segmentation, VLANs, and secure connectivity solutions

Administering and optimizing next-generation firewall technologies and security controls

Monitoring network performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and resolving connectivity issues

Supporting VPN connectivity and secure access solutions for AKC employees and business partners

Collaborating with teammates on infrastructure upgrades, modernization efforts, and technology projects

Troubleshooting complex network and security-related issues across multiple environments

Maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures

Preferred

Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms

Familiarity with Linux administration

Exposure to enterprise storage technologies, including NetApp

Experience with backup, recovery, and data protection solutions

Industry certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or similar networking certifications

Benefits

Hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the Raleigh, NC office.

Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments

Strong understanding of routing, switching, TCP/IP networking, and network troubleshooting

Experience with VLAN implementation and network segmentation

Experience supporting IPsec and SSL VPN technologies

Experience administering next-generation firewall platforms

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities

Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms

Familiarity with Linux administration
