Network Security Engineer

101 Riverside Hospital, Inc. is hiring a Network Security Engineer I to implement and maintain security solutions that protect its health system infrastructure, patient data, and clinical operations. The role supports daily security-tool operations, security projects, and compliance with organizational and healthcare regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and triage vulnerability scan results; contribute findings to remediation plans and verify closure

Assist senior engineers in performing network security risk assessments and document findings

Administer and monitor host-based security solutions across the organization, including EDR, data loss prevention, software allowlisting, and configuration hardening policies

Respond to security alerts, perform first-line triage, and assist in implementing preventative controls

Enforce established computer and network security policies, procedures, and change-management processes

Collaborate with engineering staff, management, and end-users to gather and document security requirements for new systems and infrastructure projects

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls and supporting network security infrastructure to ensure uptime and performance targets

Support the design, testing, and deployment of security infrastructure changes in partnership with other engineers

Maintain and update technical documentation, including incident reports, runbooks, asset inventories, and configuration baselines

Take part in after-hours maintenance and incident response as needed

Preferred

Bachelors Degree, Computer Science/Information Systems or related field

1 year Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud security

Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or regulated-industry environment

3-4 years Hands-on experience with technical security solutions (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, MFA)

3-4 years Experience enforcing security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard data and systems from cyber threats

2 years Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows Server, and Linux operating systems

CompTIA Security+ - CompTIA within 180 Days

Network (Plus) - CompTIA within 120 Days

Bachelors Degree, Computer Science/Information Systems or related field

1 year Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud security

Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or regulated-industry environment
