Network Engineer

Responsibilities

Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user experience

Evaluate network system inefficiencies and flaws to design and implement improved software, designs, and processes

Develop software to improve the performance, security, transparency, and manageability of network systems

Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software, hardware, and other network system problems with minimal guidance

Scale systems sustainably by creating tools and automation that improve system reliability and operational velocity. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support multi-vendor, SDN-based wired and wireless networks

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Telecommunications or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer-related occupation

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Telecommunications or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer-related occupation

1 year of experience in the following: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for exchanging routing information between autonomous systems; Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP) including Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS); Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) for high-performance network data-carrying; Writing readable and structured code in Python, C++, or Go for software development utilizing engineering best practices; and Network troubleshooting to resolve interruptions using established procedures and tools
