Network Security Operations Engineer

MedPro Group is an insurance company focused on protecting healthcare professionals and organizations. The Network Security Operations Engineer will design, deploy, maintain, and secure networking technologies across on-premises data centers and cloud environments while supporting monitoring, architecture, cybersecurity strategy, documentation, and critical network operations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain IT networking technologies utilized and deployed within our on premises data centers and Cloud environments

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain IT cybersecurity technologies that protect and integrate with the IT networking technologies deployed within our on premises data centers and Cloud environments

Provide information and consulting to other IT functions to help drive architecture for solutions

Develop and maintain robust monitoring and notifications for the area of responsibility by measuring system utilization, identifying preemptive and actual issues & outages, identifying cybersecurity threat detection for escalation and mitigation efforts, and other KPI needs

Ensure all areas of responsibility are appropriately and well documented

Drive constant analysis and evaluation of business technology needs and architecture to ensure adequate secure networking solutions are in place that follows relevant industry standards and best practices

Closely collaborate and partner with the Cybersecurity team to support, plan, consult on, and drive the corporate cybersecurity strategy and implementation

Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud Center of Excellence, Data Management, & Data Science) to support their needs and solutions

Participate in a rotating after-hours schedule for network critical support

Preferred

Demonstrated engineering expertise in Cisco networking and security technologies (e.g., Cisco Catalyst switches, Umbrella, FTD firewalls, FirePOWER Services, ISE, Meraki and ACI) is a plus

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a technology-related degree with a minimum of three years of experience or five or more years of experience in corporate networking and cybersecurity administration and design

Strong knowledge of cybersecurity industry standards and practices

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies

Knowledge and experience with network routing protocols (e.g., EIGRP, BGP, & OSPF)

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

The ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated

Excellent critical thinking and decisionmaking skills

Demonstrated engineering expertise in Cisco networking and security technologies (e.g., Cisco Catalyst switches, Umbrella, FTD firewalls, FirePOWER Services, ISE, Meraki and ACI) is a plus
