Machine Learning Engineer

The JAAW Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business supporting the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office and Department of Defense environments. The Machine Learning Engineer will develop, deploy, automate, monitor, and improve machine learning capabilities for the War Data Platform Core Integration effort while collaborating across AI, data, software, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.

Responsibilities

Develop infrastructure for training, validating, deploying, and operating machine learning models

Design and implement automated machine learning pipelines

Build and maintain model-serving capabilities supporting efficient inference

Develop reusable ML components, libraries, and engineering utilities

Implement MLOps practices supporting continuous integration and deployment of models

Develop tools and processes for model monitoring, performance tracking, and explainability

Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines meet machine learning requirements

Develop testing frameworks and maintain technical documentation for ML components and processes

Preferred

Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments

Experience with MLOps and automated ML pipelines

Experience with model serving and inference platforms

Experience with model monitoring, performance tracking, or explainability

Experience with scalable cloud or platform infrastructure supporting ML workloads

Qualifications

Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding

U.S. citizenship required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Experience developing, deploying, or supporting machine learning systems

Experience with machine learning frameworks, programming languages, or ML development platforms

Understanding of model training, validation, deployment, inference, monitoring, and testing

Strong programming, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia

Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments

Experience with MLOps and automated ML pipelines

Experience with model serving and inference platforms

Experience with model monitoring, performance tracking, or explainability

Experience with scalable cloud or platform infrastructure supporting ML workloads
