Backend Engineer - Infrastructure

HeyGen is dedicated to making visual storytelling accessible to all, and they are seeking a Backend Engineer (Infrastructure) to develop core systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on creating scalable and efficient backend systems to support the company's growing user base.

Responsibilities

System Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient foundational systems. Examples include:

Data Infrastructure: Forge the next generation of data systems to fuel our analytics

Cloud Infrastructure: Multi-vendor GPU capacity management and scheduling

ML Infrastructure: Construct the ML training infrastructure to enhance our AI researchers’ productivity, and inference systems to optimize the scalability and performance of our video GenAI

Product Infrastructure: Create the foundation for HeyGen product

Collaboration: Work closely with product engineers, AI researchers to deliver best performant systems

Performance Monitoring: Monitor backend systems for performance, errors, and anomalies. Implement fixes and improvements as needed

Code Quality: Maintain high code quality through regular code reviews, pair programming, and writing unit and integration tests

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest system technologies and best practices to ensure HeyGen remains at the forefront of technology

Preferred

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes

Experience with Machine Learning Infrastructure especially computer vision

Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

2+ years of experience working on scalable and performant systems

Proficiency in python or c++

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP

Strong knowledge of API design and development

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes

Experience with Machine Learning Infrastructure especially computer vision

Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment

2+ years of experience working on scalable and performant systems.
