Senior Software Engineer, Plant Intelligence

1AI Energy, the employing entity for 1 Arc Power, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build software for designing, commissioning, and operating utility-scale solar and storage plants. The role develops end-to-end products, adds automation and AI to plant workflows, and turns plant data into actionable dashboards and insights.

Responsibilities

Build products end to end: interactive interfaces, APIs and the services behind them

Build tools across the plant lifecycle: design, commissioning and operations

Bring automation and AI into how plants are designed and run

Turn plant data into dashboards and insights people act on

Preferred

Power or renewable energy industry experience

Solar performance modeling tools: PVsyst, SAM or similar

Machine learning for optimization: surrogate models, Bayesian optimization or similar

Optimization: linear or mixed-integer programming, or heuristic search

Data engineering: data lakes, pipelines and streaming

Infrastructure as code: Terraform or similar

6+ years of software engineering, building full-stack production applications

Strong TypeScript and React, and Python

APIs, data modeling and SQL databases

Complex, data-heavy interfaces such as maps and visualizations

Algorithmic problem solving with real-world constraints

Bias for action and end-to-end ownership

Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineers and commercial teams

Power or renewable energy industry experience
