Job description
Matlen Silver is recruiting for a private investment firm seeking a Python Developer to support and enhance business applications, data processes, and analytics solutions. The role focuses on Python development, data pipelines and integrations, projection modeling, and production support, with collaboration across Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Python-based applications and services
Build and support data pipelines, real-time data feeds, and REST API integrations
Work with large datasets using Pandas and DataFrames
Develop SQL queries and support data management initiatives
Assist with projection modeling and financial data analysis
Provide support for overnight business-critical processes and troubleshoot production issues as needed
Monitor system events and participate in issue resolution efforts
Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams on new initiatives and enhancements
Contribute to backend system improvements, migrations, and ongoing technical projects
Help improve the stability, efficiency, and scalability of existing solutions
Preferred
- Experience with NumPy
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Exposure to the Flask framework
- Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting operational issues

Qualifications
- 3-6 years of professional software development experience
- Strong Python development skills
- Hands-on experience with Pandas and DataFrames
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Understanding of data pipelines and real-time data processing
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Exposure to financial services or financial data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with NumPy
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Exposure to the Flask framework
- Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting operational issues
- 3-6 years of professional software development experience.
