Azure Database Administrator with Snowflake

Chelsoft Solutions Co. is seeking a mid-level Database Administrator to manage enterprise database platforms in a highly regulated financial services environment. The role focuses on database availability, security, performance, backups, disaster recovery, upgrades, migrations, automation, and collaboration with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data teams.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain database environments

Monitor database health, availability, and performance

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues

Optimize database performance and resource utilization

Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes

Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions

Manage database security, access, and permissions

Perform database upgrades, patching, and maintenance

Automate routine administrative and maintenance tasks

Support database migrations and environment refreshes

Monitor storage utilization and capacity growth

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams

Maintain database documentation and operational procedures

Follow change management and regulatory compliance standards

Skills

4-7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment

Experience administering relational and/or NoSQL database platforms

Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, and Azure Backup

Experience with database backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery

Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning

Experience managing database security, user access, and permissions

Experience with database upgrades, patching, and migrations

Experience with automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting languages

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

Experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud environments beyond database services

Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production systems

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Experience using enterprise database monitoring and performance management tools

Background in regulated industries (financial services, insurance)
